The aeroacoustics simulation process

1. CAD
Convert your CAD geometry to a triangulated mesh format such as STL. No additional CFD pre-processor needed.
2. Upload
Upload STL to bramble and use to create an Assembly in the Model Viewer.
3. RANS Solve
Select RANS CFD methodology, template settings and combine with your Assembly. Launch simulation.
4. Aeroacoustics Solve
Select Zenotech methodology, template settings and combine with your RANS simulation. Launch simulation.
5. Visualise
Use bramble’s results page to view forces, flow metrics, images and movies.
6. Decision
Make next design decision and repeat the process.
Aeroacoustics CFD - A history
Historically, aeroacoustics simulations using DEV methods were extremely slow, often taking up to three weeks to run. By the time results were ready, they were already out of sync with the design cycle and obsolete. The extremely high compute costs added to the inefficiency, leaving engineers with few viable options. Wind tunnel testing became the main fallback, but modifying prototypes quickly drove up costs.
