Toyota Gazoo Racing Argentina
Toyota Gazoo Racing Argentina or TGR Argentina, is a racing team that is part of the Toyota car company. Since 2000 it has been participating in various racing competitions. The aim to push the boundaries and develop their cars by racing in the most challenging conditions and on demanding roads.
The challenge
The racing team wanted to develop their touring cars to give them a competitive edge at their next race.
However, the racing team was made up of race engineers rather than CFD engineers. They needed CFD software that was user-friendly, allowing them to focus on the aerodynamics of the car rather than the technicalities of CFD setup.
The bramble solution
bramble‘s automated workflows, tried and tested meshing and solving strategies, and inbuilt safety features meant the team were able to easily and quickly run simulations without a CFD engineer.
This then enabled them to spend most of their time analysing their CFD results and updating and exploring design options.
Value realised
Thanks to bramble, the team were able to run simulations that closely reflected the reality of racing, like car-slides, cross winds etc. These simulations produced robust results that guided design changes and performance improvements.
As bramble don’t charge for license or subscription fees TGR Argentina were able to test and develop their vehicle even further.
The userabilty of bramble meant that our race engineers were able to quickly start running CFD
simulations, producing reliable, high fidelity results that were put into developing the car even further.
